Later versions of The Sims have an option to select certain tastes in music, food and so on to make the personality of your Sim more lifelike and versatile. But note that some traits are incompatible with the others – for instance, you can’t be shy and brave at the same time. There is a bunch of them that can be combined in all possible ways. You can also configure the slightest detail of your Sim’s appearance – skin tone, eye color and shape, nose size, whether they are slim or overweight and so on. There is an immense selection of those in the menu. The look of your heroes isn’t set in stone – if you’re tired of your hairstyle or outfit, you’re free to pick new ones. There is also an option to alter urban areas, change existing locations or add new buildings. One is related to customizing either the appearance of the characters that constitute your family or the look of your home. The whole gameplay of The Sims basically consists of two parts.
