These errors aren't happening straight away, and while other people reinstalling fixed their issues, it didn't fix mine. I've looked online but I can't find anything that fits the problem I'm experiencing.
I've played so many MMORPGs in my life and honest to god none of them have been this difficult to install. I've spend so much time trying to download and install this game that at this point, I don't know if it's really worth the effort. It eventually auto retries and now I'm back to the same 404 error as before. I couldn't see any working advice besides reinstall or try it again with my anti-virus and firewall turned off so I redownloaded (via steam) the game again to get an E_FAIL error around the same time as the last HTTP 404 error (77% - 88% patched. Not the case now - I've been wanting to play this with my boyfriend but we've both come across multiple different errors when installing/patching the game.įirst it was the high res issues, then I get this HTTP 404 error after downloading and patching a bunch of files. Just looks like this probably won't be resolved for me anytime soon since it's a head-scratcher I've never seen before.Something that kind of sucks is that I played this game years ago for a few hours and I didn't have any issues. All the clients machines are off the internet and updates are being pushed via gpo. My current setup is Windows Server 2016, WSUS is not storing updates locally since i don't have that many clients to update. I still haven't been able to find a solution to this problem, first time setting up WSUS.
I can't be the only one that just updated a working lotro comp to windows 11 and the lotro launcher is completely invisible for the first time ever? Just never had that happen on at least a couple dozen other installs over the years. WSUS-client computers stuck at 0 downloading. This was a surprise to me, pissing me off because I'm losing the time I would have gotten to play with my daughter today. And windows 11 doesn't look anything like the video since the vid is windows 10. The installer itself is completely invisible. This PC was running it fine, with all required files, until the windows 11 update - that is the new thing to me. I've installed lotro a boatload of times over the years, as a lifetime member using lots of different PC.
